An underrated aspect of think tanks is that, I think, a HUGE majority of people have no idea the level of influence they have or purpose they serve. I didn’t really plug into this stuff until recently and it’s a mind numbing exercise to understand the history behind them and the level of funding they have, let alone unseat all of your own pre conditioned biases to deal with and realize that they serve capital, and nothing else. Most people don’t have the time for it. This is a perfect example of manufacturing consent since most people don’t read past a headline.
